Saturday 21st May 2011

Friday 20th May 2011

The 2010-2011 session of the 3rd Inverness Boys Brigade came to a finish on Friday 20th May with our Annual Display and Parent’s Night.

This year our Chief Guests were Inverness Provost Jimmy Gray and his wife Liz; almost 60 Boys were in attendance at the display and it was great to see the Upper Hall packed with parents, grandparents and friends.

A fun-filled, action packed evening was enjoyed by those present; however, I must apologise for embarrassing a few dads in the Company Section drill routine!

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of 5 Queen’s Badges to Jamie Nolan, Ewen Reid, Scott Fraser, Adam Kelly and Adam Morrison.

Queens Badge Winners 2011

The Queen’s Badge is the highest award presented in the Brigade and is the reward for 2 years hard work, including work within the Company and Church, volunteering in the Community and the development of a new skill and improvement in a physical activity. The Boys also had to attend 2 weekend long training courses.

The Boys have been a credit to the Church, the Company and to their parents and I would like to take this opportunity to wish them all the very best for the future.

National Badminton - The photo below is taken from our match in the National Badminton competition against 2nd Cambusnethan.

Badminton 2011

The match itself went to a tie-break decider after nothing separated the teams in the 6 matches [3-3].

Unfortunately, we ended up on the losing side, but we have had a good run in making it to the last 16 of the competition.

September 2010

As part of the Discover program the boys chose to paint the upstairs kitchen as part of a DIY task. Some photos of the boys painting are shown below.

The weather was kind to us and a great time was had by one and all – the journey back to the Church on Sunday was a peaceful one!!
